For many in the diaspora food and music are the easiest connections to where we are from. Whenever I visit my sister she makes sure I have Sadza because she knows I don't cook it. It's a point of nolstagia for us I guess.
Ama stated her business name at an event I was filming and everyone loved it. Chale Let's Eat is an amazing name for a Ghanaian street food pop up. Of course the food is amazing too. Really amazing. That beef azi desi 👌🏿
I filmed my interview with Ama in a pub in High Gate, London where she was going her residency. I also filmed her cooking in the kitchen. Then in a moment of daftness I deleted the footage. All the banter about my wrong pronouncing 'Ghanaian l' wrong and stuff about her homemade supermalt sauce - gone. Luckily I always record audio separately. That enabled me to still put out this short documentary.
I hope you enjoy it and if you ever see Chale Let's Eat at any event it should automatically be your choice. You won't regret it. Trust me.
